Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. Since the mid 80s she has been working on film and television. Her work has been recognized with several awards, among them sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and fostered by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her mother split with her father at approximately five. Her younger sister later moved into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett saw James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play when she was in high school, and realised that she was an actor and would like to be doing. The year was 1980 and Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale In 1997, they got married. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her leading parts, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
